"Madama Butterfly" by Giacomo Puccini on Plac Defilad! "Madama Butterfly" by Giacomo Puccini - the masterpiece of the master of opera will be performed in the staged concert version on June 15, 2019 at 21:00 on the Stage at Plac Defilad. Madama Butterfly tickets on sale now! Since many years the repertoire of the Teatr Studio has included some popular broadcasts of Live operas in HD from the New York Metropolitan Opera, however, at the end of the season, the Warsaw stage invites you to a truly exceptional event:

Aleksandra Kurzak, currently the most famous Polish soprano, Roberto Alagna, the French tenor opening the 2018/2019 season at the Metropolitan Opera, and Andrzej Dobber, one of the most sought-after baritones in the world, will perform together in the timeless masterpiece of Giacomo Puccini, which has been dominating for over a century in the repertoires of opera theatres all over the world. They will be accompanied by: Monika Ledzion-Porczyńska (Suzuki), Marta Brzezińska (Kate Pinkerton), Karol Kozłowski (Goro), Dionizy Wincenty Płaczkowski (Prince Yamadori) and Łukasz Konieczny (Bonzo).

The Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Choir prepared by Bartosz Michałowski will be led by the Italian maestro Marcello Mottadelli.

The staged version of the opera will be directed by
Natalia Korczakowska, the costumes will be designed by Marek Adamski, Aleksander Prowaliński is responsible for the light, and Marek Suberlak for the sound.

"Madama Butterfly" on Plac Defilad is a moving love story performed by an all-star cast, recognized producers, a lifestyle opera event in the heart of the city, and above all, a performance in which
Aleksandra Kurzak will sing the title part for the first time in Poland, just a dozen weeks after her debut in this role on the legendary Neapolitan stage of the Teatro di San Carlo.
